The Votes are in for Round 21!

Apologies for not updating the Leaderboard for a few weeks. The good news is that after Round 21, Dusty still has a winning lead over Rance who is still 3 points ahead of Cotch. Following is Astbury, Lambert, Prestia, Grigg, Nankervis,  Riewoldt, and Nick Vlastuin rounding out the top 10.

Hardwick claims Tigers copped raw deal

RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick claimed the umpires were influenced by the parochial Geelong crowd in his side’s 14-point loss at Simonds Stadium, saying it only added to the Cats’ formidable home ground advantage.[IMG]

If you saw Leon Cameron's comments on Greene's karate kick, it appears coaches are commenting more about things they probably shouldn't.

    At least Hardwick's were true.

It was a fair call by Hardwick, anyone who watched the game would agree with him, and it should have been called out.

We have been copping it all year so we expect a bit of a bashing but that second quarter was unbelievable. It's fine to say we lost because of x and y but when your players are getting pinged all the time for virtually nothing, then confidence goes and self doubt comes in then frustration then more frees. The other team keeps rolling the dice and getting away with it. We did well to fight back when the umpires put the cue in the rack.

We have to make it an us vs them mentality this weekend because the Perth crowds are notorious for spooking the umps.

Don't like him as coach but it's one of the times I'm proud of him speaking out about the umps, should be more of it when it happens even the captain should have a word after a goal or at the end of a qtr " hey, you favouring the home side coz your getting intimidated by the crowd ??? "
I'm pretty sure they'd call it down the line from there coz they won't want it reviewed in a bad light

Its not a good idea for the coach of any club to make such a call. Fine for you or I or any supporter who is emotionally compromised by our position of bias to be upset and want to say things but when you are an official of the club it's best to deal with any of these sort of situations away from the media and in a direct conversation with the league.

I don't I say screw them and call them out on it as it happens way too often mostly in Sa, Wa and at geelong to every club so now clubs are putting it to the media perhaps there will be training to umps to stop fearing crowds or being intimidated or being coerced into bad decisions favouring that home team

In my opinion the very best sportspeople focus on what they can control and nothing else.

    That explains Hardwick's press conference.

He's obviously brought up this issue many times to the AFL in private to no avail, nothing like the weight of public opinion to get some action.
