Martin fined twice but still eligible for Brownlow

DUSTIN Martin remains eligible for the Brownlow Medal but the Richmond star is now walking a tightrope after he was slapped with two fines from Sunday’s spiteful match against Brisbane.[IMG]

    Lucky Lucky Lucky.

Does this mean with two fines if he gets a third one he receives an automatic suspension???? Similar to the Cotchin position.

    Spot on.
Both of them MUST stop doing this stuff. Line em up in a big tackle, or just go the big fend off. That hurts their pride which hurts them much more when the memes come out! (The Ablett and Goddard ones are excellent)

We should challenge at least one of the fines. All we are risking is an extra $1000. pfft!!

I'd be interested to see the Taylor one, is there a replay of it anywhere?

We need 2-3 players to take on the role of enforcer, to retard opposition taggers and other niggling tactics as soon as they become apparent. Why? So our star play-makers like Dusty don't get provoked to the point where they feel driven to react. I want Leppitsch and Balme (who didn't put up with any nonsense in their playing days) to take guys such as Vlastuin, Caddy and Nank aside and 'workshop' a few legal ways to counter the full range of 'unsociable' tactics opponents may use. I can tell you something from watching the Tigers in the early days, Robertson wouldn't have niggled Sheedy more than twice before receiving a very clear and personal message that such action was ill advised.

    Come on GB. Get real.
Dusty has lost 2500 bucks because he's roughed up a couple of opposition players. This isn't the 70's.
I appreciate you mention "legal ways" but Martin himself has to do what he did on the weekend (minus the soft left hook). Cotch and his little jabs are NOT the right way to stop taggers.
We need to block and block hard.

One way to upset taggers is for the team to lift and win the game.

Can't be disappointed if your team wins the game. :)
