The Votes are in for Round 21!

Apologies for not updating the Leaderboard for a few weeks. The good news is that after Round 21, Dusty still has a winning lead over Rance who is still 3 points ahead of Cotch. Following is Astbury, Lambert, Prestia, Grigg, Nankervis,  Riewoldt, and Nick Vlastuin rounding out the top 10.

Round 22 over in the west.

I think we play Subiaco as well as any Victorian team.

Caddy is obviously out & I would be a fan of resting Nankervis from the trip over. He played 12 games in two years at Sydney and has played 19 this year. Butler & Castagna both went missing yesterday, I would drop one as well & expect them to star in the VFL.

Lennon, Graham & Miles would probably be the ins

Expecting a small forward to star at VFL level just because you drop them is fraught with danger. Can be feast or famine down there and your output is directly related to the performance of others. Mids gets smashed = less opportunities. Key forwards pluck lots of grabs = less opportunities.

Those kids have had quiet games in the ones this year and have mostly covered for each other, and/or bounced back strongly. Unless you saw them let up on their tackling pressure or explicitly breaking team rules I'd keep them in. The bigger ground at Subiaco will suit them.

I'd bring Lennon in for Caddy - reliable shot at goal and good hands.

Not so sure about this bit @Vines. Needs to do better in contests, too easily pushed off, and loses his footing.

I'd blood Jacky G or bring in Towner.

On George and Butler, Georgie is under more pressure than Butler, so I would expect to see either Bolton or Wombo in next week (my preference is Wombo, he works harder and is less likely to be caught trying to dance around 22 opposition players)

Soldo comes out surely. Took 1 mark and had 3 effective disposals in a game where we got absolutely smashed in the air. Like I said, he's an absolute liability anywhere but the center square.

Out: Houli (no chance), Caddy, Soldo, Castagna, C. Ellis
In: Short, Graham, Lennon, Stengle, Menadue

Agreed. We need to see where he's at on the big stage, during the last two rounds.

I want Townsend as well as Lennon. We need to know who's got the right blend of talent and toughness as we head into finals, where Townsend's first appointment may be with Sloane.

Playing Caddy would only be the second stupidest suggestion on this site this week.

Prestia has come back after his week off and had a couple of really strong games. Building nicely and probably has another level in him as well.
Just can't see how we can drop Soldo this week and go with one ruck. It's a horrible tactic and he's ok at the centre bounces. Hampson may actually be better value v Saints and for finals, but gee, I'm shaking my head as I type that.

If fit, Hampson could actually be bloody handy as a second ruck !!!

Freo coming off a big loss to the Swans in Sydney , two weeks before they played well against GWS in Sydney , Fyffe & Stephen Hill were a big part of that

They are at the end of the season where its hard to be motivated every week

this is their last home game , I'd expect a much improved performance from them and suspect Ross Lyon to have been plotting and planning for a possible upset this weekend

we have to be ready for them to come out hard

this could be a game we use Hampson and restrict him to 50% game time so as to fast track getting him used to the pace of the game and be finals ready

with Ballintyne running around in opposition colours and Ross Lyon as coach the likely of a hard tag on Dusty or just straight out dirty tactics designed to provoke Dusty to get reported I see as high , we have to have his protection high on our agenda..... am I calling Freo dirty grubs ? Yes

No Walters to rip us to shreds. Negate the Hill brothers influence and were just about home.

Needs to be a confidence building win...

Interesting question Haselby is more the true midfielder. Barlow would go forward and be too tall, so it's Haselby for mine.
