I reckon Dimma suffers from his loose performance in front of the press. Personally, I prefer that significantly more than the Ross Lyon script.

I also reckon he's an honest and honourable bloke, who will put his integrity above all else, when it really counts.

I saw the headlines, "Tigers sack coach" and I thought surely not based one one poor half against Collingwood in the JLT.

Turns out that was the Wests Tigers from Sydney who sacked their coach early in their season.

Is this the year of the sacked Tigers coach...............

    DH should coach through.
    See the round one thread.
    Collingwood is beset by injuries.
Buckley is in the media spotlight this year.
Seeing him at the press conference, I actually felt sorry for him.
He seems a decent person, have met once, but he should never have been guaranteed the senior coaching role.
It should have been a competitive process.
Not an inside job. Look at Hird.

    A bit early Deano.

Before we all see a wart and want to burn the witch, I would prefer to wait and see if it weighs as much as a duck.

THunt may have a specified role, as pointed out elsewhere (I think TBR amongst others) to run with and negate Smurfie.

If that is not the role, and some one life Grigg has to sacrifice his game, then yes, it would appear that it is a duck.

The other thing is that Miles and Hint are not interchangeable. Vlaustin would have to move back to make space for Miles.

Clearly says to me that Miles does not have a future at our club as the in and under mid.

He'll be there in the mix if and when injuries and poor form take their toll. If he doesn't play much this year, it will probably be because the team is going very well in all respects. But it will be a miracle if all other grunt mids stay upright for the full season ... a miracle I'm praying for by the way. The success or failure of the Vlastuin midfield experiment could be a factor, too.

Might be so Mr B. Other side of that question is whetherSnippa is happy playing second string.

To extend your metaphor, Miles may suffer from not having a second string to his bow. I know he can go forward and kick a goal, but I wouldn't think he'd be perceived as a genuine mid/forward. If, over time, the likes of Rioli, Castagna, Butler show they can win their own ball while rotating through the midfield, competition for spots will get even tougher. Not saying those three are in-and-under mids, but if they become part of a speedy, skillful group that's winning clearances, it just gets harder to find a spot for a Miles or a Lambert.

Agreed, but that midfield and clearance rates are critical to those speedsters having an impact.

To extend the metaphor even further, leaves the team with no second string in stoppage clearances

Thanks BTC. I've kept myself away so I can go into the season fresh with fewer expectations. Hopefully I can just enjoy the games a little more.

That said, these blind kicks down the ground to a contest aren't lowering my blood pressure.

Good call mate. Nobody here thinks he is a shit bloke. Consensus has seemed to be that he doesn't get the best out of the talent at his disposal. Paul Roos absolutely shits me with his clichéd scripted sribble. Not saying he isn't a decent human, just suggesting that he speaks much but says little... CLEARLY I am right....

So true. I picked this up when Roos started talking about Rance post game, how Weitering may have worked him out, as has Hogan. Then fails to elaborate. So much for sharing your expertise.

When Anthony does his defensive work as well as the current mids and doesn't dawdle back, he gets a gig.

It's good coaching to try and get the beanpole match up on Alex. Weitering will be a top 5 player in the league before too long. Just needs a few steak dinners.
