It was Dusty, the new coaches, the mindfullness and all of that but essentially it was that we matured as a group. The side that made the finals and lost them was a few years older and a bit stronger. Still young so there could be a few years to milk out of this mob.

I recall attending the JLT pre-season match versus Adelaide.
I remember when Caddy scored a goal and the players rushed around and congratulated him. It meant a lot.
The players and coaches worked extremely hard in the pre-season to seamlessly merge the new players like Caddy and Prestia into the team to achieve a cohesive whole.
The nomination of Grigg as the secondary ruckman is a stroke of coaching genius, and whoever is responsible must take a bow.

I guess the recruiters and list managers who through incompetence left a gaping hole in our list in the ruck/key forward stakes better take a bow then.

    Desperate times and all that.

Griffiths and Soldo were provided opportunities throughout the course of the year and failed to deliver. Carpe diem!
The inclusion of Grigg as mobile ruck is a brilliant coaching strategy.
Damien says they will revisit the strategy.
Our recruitment and list management are the best in the league.
Drafting Cotchin and Rance in the one year is not a bad track record.
Young Graham and Townsend are revelations.
Further, Denis Pagan was mystified the other teams overlooked Kane Lambert.

Watching the final quarter of the Round Five match versus Melbourne on AFL LivePass.
One of the best quarters for the season.
    Houli was sensational.
    Caddy's goal.
    Super Jack.
A tremendous electric atmosphere of 85,000 fans was a taste of the finals series to come. The roar of The Tiger Army was phenomenal.
In terms of personnel, it was interesting.
They experimented with Astbury on a half-forward flank.
Conca, Elton, Markov, Menadue and Short played.

It is worth subscribing to AFL Live Pass.
It has every season from 2012 onwards.
It is said Richmond this year looked closely at Beveridge's tactics and game style, which would have developed from Clarkson.
Beveridge said it was after the pre-season match in 2015 (the then NAB series) when the Western Bulldogs thrashed Collingwood the players believed the new game plan could win the premiership.

@Black and others...fellas you really have to get hold of and read Konrad Marshall's book! Shines a light on both the 2016 and 2017 season.

I'm looking forward to reading it.

Mind you , I haven't read a book since being scarred for life in year 11 when the curriculum stipulated that I had to read and analyse MacBeth.

I knew it was gonna be a long semester as soon as I read the very first line in the book... 'fair is foul and foul is fair'

Anyhow , the Westfield gift voucher I received last Christmas expires in 18 days so I probably should use it hey ?

Out of interest , and besides pure greed , is there any reason you can think of as to why gift vouchers even have an expiry date ?

Don't get me started on expiry dates. That would be a thread all on it's own because everyone has a story of losing a well intended present

Thought I read some where that is was illegal to have an expiry date... don't advise you to test this out though!
