It's looking like a Rich vs Port Melb granny as they lead by 4-5 goals
Regardless with neither affiliated with an afl team does that mean we have to drop the number of AFL listed guys or does that rule only apply if we were still with coburg ?

It only applies if we weren't still competing in the firsts. It would then be the 12/10 rule but as we are still in the firsts anyone not selected for AFL team is eligible

Am I right in understanding that both Box Hill and Port have good running games, so will our plan for Port be similar to the one we used for Box Hill?
Although I imagine Port have more hardened, mature bodies, being a standalone club, is it fair to assume that many of our guys who have been in the system for some time, and have had access to top training facilities, (eg Hunt, Batchelor, Morris, Lloyd, Miles, Menadue, Markov) would have higher levels of fitness? If so, once we take possession, would our plan be to run and spread and tire them out, especially coming out of defence?
Also, what odds are Ladbrokes giving on Griffiths actually tearing a game apart, especially against a team of couldabeens and wannabes?

You'd think with this being at Etihad it should suit us more as many of our guys have prob played there whilst Port no and the bigger space to suit us more

The way we have been playing over the past month you think we would be a massive chance to win the Granny.
Teamwork has been inspiring.
With Markov, Menadue, Chol, Stengle, Moore, Garthwaite & Bolton coming thru the future is looking as good as it ever has.
No more Yarran dark clouds on the horizon !!!

Been saying all year that this group can go all the way!
Ayers is a crafty coach, so @flybags4 will need to be on top of his game.
Burra will be looking to physicality to put our boys off, and will try to crowd out out run and carry. The ipen expanses of Darklands will limit that, espwcially if we keep outside.
Expect some close attention on Short, Snippa and Lloyd. Watch Stevie payback in kind.
If Eevan does not stand aside for his younger cousin (which would be in his nature), he will be a raging bull. Nothing to lose!

Also, what odds are Ladbrokes giving on Griffiths actually tearing a game apart, especially against a team of couldabeens and wannabes? Craig will be sticking to "process". Keep the ball in the hands of the quicks and elite users, create multiple re-entries to the F50 and pressure.
Burra tried a little of this on the Seagulls to negate their uncontested game style.
Burra have some solid big backs. They will try to out muscle, out mark whatever talks are there (Chol and Griffith) but our talls need to bring it to ground in a contest.
If Eevan plays, he will ret forward when not in the ruck. Mr Gale will rest back as a spare when Ivvy is rucking.
Expect to see Lloyd and Miles in close in the centre, with JB or Lennon providing the big body crunch at centre clearances.

Our VFL Grand Final aspirations could be compromised. This caught my eye in an article on the AFL's website.........
"The VFL team could be compromised against Port Melbourne on Sunday at Etihad Stadium if Richmond advances to Saturday week's AFL decider.
A six-day break between those two games meant it was likely some players would be on a minutes restriction.
There could be scenes reminiscent of 2014, when Hawthorn star Cyril Rioli returned from a three-month layoff after a hamstring injury, before sitting out the last quarter as Box Hill was overrun in the last term by Footscray.
McRae predicted "three or four" Tigers could be in that situation but he backed many more as being ready to step up if called upon, with 20 listed players expected to line up on Sunday.
"I'm certainly not naive enough to think that Saturday afternoon's (not) going to dictate a few things we do on Sunday. Who knows what's going to happen in that situation? We'll have players ready if that's the case," McRae said."

One thing's for sure, guys who unexpectedly got a GF berth in the magoos or the firsts would be jumping out of their skins with the opportunity.
I can see next Monday's headline now, "Six Tiger Talls Do Hammies."
And the headline the following Sunday, "Chol kicks 10. Elton wins Norm Smith. Maric reported 17 times in last match."
