No - this isn’t a joke! The AFL have actually admitted that the free kick awarded to Brisbane was incorrect. They even got the margin wrong in the story o_O

The AFL has admitted that Brisbane ruckman Oscar McInerney should not have been awarded a free kick in the Lions’ one-point win over North Melbourne last night.

Roos defender Scott Thompson conceded a push-out free kick against McInerney 20 metres out from Brisbane’s goal, resulting in what ended up being the match-winning goal.

Given they make numerous errors every weekend then there could be an opening for a new FoxFooty show where they explain their weekly errors

The other glaring one was just prior to that where the umpire awarded a block against a Brisbane player and then mistakenly awarded the free kick to him !
