A few bits in here that are making me happy. Especially Jack Higgins being home again. Nothing about Rance though.

Heard Alex on the radio this morning. He has an appointment with his specialist in the next couple of days and will know then if he's a chance to play this year or not.

Yes - Jack is out of hospital. I believe that the operation was a success and that he recuperating at home. Every chance of being right to play in 2020.

I thought Garthwaite would have solidified his place in the 22 in Rance's absence. Imagine Rance Astbury Grimes and Broady back there next year!

Forgive me but wasn't Rance put on the LTI for Chol?

Does being on the LTI list allow for finals? or is it at least 8 weeks from when one is put on the list?

Yes he was. That was around 4/7, so 8 weeks would make it the end of August, the 29th by my reckoning. Our VFL team has a bye the weekend before that, then it's finals for them the following weekend. I'm not sure of the qualification rules for the VFL finals.

Sydney Stack has been ruled out of Saturday night's match against Melbourne due to calf soreness.

Stack experienced soreness after last Friday night’s game against Collingwood and his calf hasn’t improved enough for him to be available to play this weekend.

The Club will assess his availability for next week.

Rance has pulled the pin on trying to play this year
I think what he said was quite reasonable and very team oriented. Also, I just don't think it would have worked out dates wise, with byes thrown in for good measure.

Not Unexpected. Not sure that we will see much of him this season to be honest

yes I tend to agree Cotch is quite fragile and can we afford him to last a quarter or a half in a potential elim? That would be a huge call. However could just as easily play and have a blinder so who knows.... trust in the medicos.... We know we'd want him in to face Eagles or Lions, but clearly we are ultra conservative (as always) which is fair enough. Maybe Pickett will come in and surprise everyone :)

I’m very concerned about Cotchin as well
History from this season says rule him out as he may become a liability.
Imagine in a tough prelim or granny and he goes off sore very early like he did his last game.
Hopefully no matter what he thinks and what Hardwick wants that they put him through hell at training when he thinks he is right to prove he is not going to break down again.
