Welcome to the club Marlion Pickett who we picked up in the mid year draft.

He’s 27 now played HB mostly now plays in middle and rated as highly as Tim Kelly who was at same club and great mates with.

Downside is he just come back from broken finger trouble and re broke it on sat so will not play for 8-10 weeks.

We said it doesn’t matter as we wanted him long term anyway.

His highlights package is very impressive

He catches and kills his own ball

Ball winning in traffic , vision in traffic , takes great grabs

And then there is the back story

The strength of his character is right up there

Hopefully our guys can manage his healing and rehab and he can have a real crack at making the big time

Cant help but feel he is a selection for next year and the Clubs expectations for this year are low , anyone else think the same ?

They said exactly that seconds after they drafted him, he is long term not to fill a spot now thats why injury didnt bother us

Agree that he’s not for this year but that doesn’t necessarily mean that expectation are low. They are regenerating all the time. It’s good management

My only expectation is that we get him to 100 games given he has 4 kids. Don't know the make up of the kids but we can use all four in various sides these days.

When we were in the West recently I think a few eye brows were raised about Ben Cousins meeting up with our players
he is a charismatic person and spent 2 years with us for a lot of media attention but no problems
he has his issues that are well enough known

credit to our guys for connecting with him

now we recruit M Pickett , he would appear to have "done his time" and mended his ways
all credit to the Club for giving him a lifeline

we will be a better place for actions like that and the eye brow raises are people from this over the top politically correct era who can never be satisfied

Go Tiges

We are building a rep for the possible home of reformed fractured soles

Get away drivers, ex-prison inmates, habitual late for training young guys.

Love this pick. I hope he can play this year, and if his onkaparinga comes good in the time frame anticipated, I reckon he will.
