Jack’s back for GWS clash

Richmond will welcome star forward Jack Riewoldt back into its line-up for Sunday’s big match against GWS at the MCG.

The three-time Coleman medallist will return for his fourth game of the season after a high-grade PCL strain sidelined him for 10 weeks.

His inclusion in the Tigers’ forward line will provide Richmond with another tall forward option alongside Tom Lynch and Mabior Chol.

Senior coach Damien Hardwick this morning said the Tigers were looking forward to seeing their co-vice-captain make his long-awaited return.

“He is so important to the way we play so it is nice to have that sort of calibre of player back in the side,” Hardwick said.

“He is such a quality player, having him in the side just makes us better.”

Out of the side that defeated Gold Coast by 92 points is Jack Graham, who has been omitted.

Richmond’s four emergencies for the Giants clash are Graham, Josh Caddy, Liam Baker and Jack Higgins.

The first bounce at the MCG on Sunday is set for 1.10pm, with the GWS match as part of Richmond’s ‘Many Cultures Festival’.
